A place from the past... North Captiva Island or Upper Captiva Island; even the natives can't agree. Do not confuse this island with its southern neighbor, Captiva, as they are vastly different.

GETTING HERE:

North Captiva Island is about six miles from the mainland connection on Pine Island. The trip from Southwest Regional Airport takes about an hour. Taxi service is available at a fare generally less expensive than a rental car and you will be allowed to shop for supplies and groceries before being delivered to the marina. The water taxi will take you on a 30-minute, scenic journey through the waters of Pine Island Sound where dolphins may be sighted and pelicans are in abundance.
