Barrier Island Beach Rentals at the Safety Harbor Club Resort and features charming vacation rentals on North Captiva Island, Florida, just north of Sanibel Island. Our rentals include unique island vacation homes, villa rentals, and waterfront townhome rentals-condo rentals, and we offer vacation rentals on the surrounding islands. 

All of our vacation rentals are nestled unobtrusively among the lush tropical canopy of sea grapes and palm trees that cover the Island and are just steps from pristine secluded beaches. Centrally located on this Caribbean-like island, the Resort spans from the waters of Pine Island Sound, to the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, a distance of about one half of a mile. Your holiday villa basks in the beauty of tropical, native vegetation.

North Captiva Island may seem light years away from Florida’s usual fast paced tourist oriented landscape, but it’s only six miles offshore from Florida’s Southwest Coast and next to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island (North of Fort Myers) There is no bridge, only a private water taxi that is included free with your vacation. The Island reminds many of the way the Florida Keys used to be in the Hemingway days with no traffic or crowds. Here the only high rises are the palm trees.

The southern half of the 750-acre, 4 mile long island is designated as state protected wilderness, with tidal flats and surrounding waters serving as an aquatic preserve for manatees. Nature tours are available. Because of the lack of development, North Captiva Island is one of the last barrier islands home to bobcats and river otters.

The pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts are situated next to an actual freshwater lake teeming with interesting, tropical bird life. Protected boat dockage is free at the Resort.

Also available by rental on the Island are powerboats, kayaks, wave runners, fishing gear and bikes. Numerous tours and cruises cover a wide range of interest.
